The Christian Temple M. B. Church was founded and organized by the late Rev. L. J. Scott in 1943. He served for many years. Suceeding his death, the late Rev. John Tyson became pastor and served until death. The late Rev. Hubert Hawkins, the 3rd pastor, became pastor and served until 1974. ![]() Rev. Joseph L. Evans In Sept. 1974, Rev. Joseph L. Evans was selected and chosen as pastor. Rev. Evans was a strong, courageous, firm leader, who believed in moving forward with God as his guide. His motto, " Let's Go Forward." He was a sincere dedicated man of God, rooted and grounded in God's word. A faithful shepherd for the sheep (Christian Temple), an outstanding teacher, especially the old testament, of the word of God. Rev. Evans served diligently until October 10, 2002, when he retired and appointed our present pastor, Rev. George Howse to succeed him. Rev. Evans went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2006. He will always be in our memory! |
